The Society contributed widely to this consultation and recognised  key intentions by the GDC to be fair and transparent, as always we highlighted the disparity in the original fee setting and challenged the starting position of this consultation.

The Society stand firm when they say they firmly believe that dental nurses should not be paying the same level of fees as other DCP groups who have a higher earning capacity from day one. The society also challenged fee setting based upon the number of cases, asking if this took in to account proportionality and the ratio of the dental nursing group given that we are the largest group and whether or not the so called cases were cases that went through the whole fitness to practice process.

The Society welcomed the review of the process  and the opportunity to contribute to the consultation on behalf of the members but till have a sense of disappointment here.
