I am a  Senior Dental Nurse with Hertfordshire Special Care Dental Service.  I am also the Sedation Nurse Lead.  I have been in dentistry for over 25 years, where my career started in a local General Dental Practice after leaving the Army 1997.  During my Army career I nursed both in England and Germany, where I served during the Gulf Conflict in 1991.

During my career with the Special Care Dental Service I have gained qualifications in Special Care Dentistry, Radiography, Oral Health and Conscious Sedation.  My interest is with Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), within dentistry.  I also have a keen interest in Dental Anxiety Management and Sedation with Special Needs.

Recently I was awarded funding to undertake research and at  present I am researching Parental Knowledge for Oral Disease with children and ADHD.

I am very excited to be an ambassador with The SBDN and look forward to be part of a team who want to take dental nurses careers to the next level.
