Our President Fiona Ellwood as a patron of BFS presented at the recent BFS Conference, the key topic being advocacy and clear messaging. Fiona called for better knowledge, access to the evidence, the opportunity to be prepared when patients are in doubt or object to fluoridation or the use of fluoride products. She spoke with passion about a team approach, not just a ‘top down’ approach but also a ‘bottom up’ approach, with the intention of providing better outcomes for patients and in addressing inequalities.
Fiona posed a number of valid questions and ended the presentation to ask ‘So what is your plan’? As you will all know Fiona is a huge advocate for teamwork and skill- mix, but also wants to ensure the whole team has access to the most relevant facts and evidence-base.
