Charity of the year – Young Tongues

Many of you will know that every year the Society selects a specific charity as its central focus. This does not mean that we don’t continue to work with our other charity partners, it simply means that the chosen charity is a focal point. President Clare Faulkner and Chair Lisa Andrews-Davies who took up office in November 2024 decided to support the Young Charity in 2025.

The objectives of the charity are: To relieve the need and protect the health of patients, in particular, but not exclusively, young people, their families and carers affected by tongue cancer throughout the UK and overseas for the public benefit by:

  • Working to improve the understanding and knowledge of tongue cancer among the public
  • Providing services, facilities and equipment not normally provided by statutory authorities
  • Providing financial support to further advance clinical research into tongue cancer.
  • Enhancing the quality of life of sufferers including practical help, counseling and emotional support.

The Society supports a number of charities as part of its values and mission statement and its priority to give back. With an active running team who knows what is possible.

Dentaid, Mouth Cancer Foundation, Swallows, Bridge-2-Aid, Gold for Kids

Thank you to all of our team and our members who continue to support our charitable causes.
