Louise Smith

Louise qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1992 NEBDSA, working in General Dental Practice for almost 10 years in her early career and progress to a role as Head Dental Nurse for 6 years. Louise currently works for Derbyshire Community Health Service NHS Trust as a Community Dental Nurse in the Community Dental Service (CDS) in Leicester and the Leicestershire NHS Dental Access Centre (DAC and has worked within this service for the past 14 years. Her responsibilities include; leading the Urgent Dental Care Service (UDCS) for Out of Hours emergency Dental care; training of new staff; managing decontamination and HTM01-05 best practice; General Anaesthetic Dental Nurse for adult special needs at Glenfield Hospital; Relative Analgesia (RA) Dental Nurse in Community Dental Clinics for special care and the ongoing development of a Business Continuity Plan for both DAC/UDCS.
