The Society is delighted to see a recently retired senior dental nurse Pamela Auld recognised in the New Year Honours list 2024/2025 for services to dental nursing and patient Welfare in Scotland. We also congratulate Dr Penelope (Pepe) Shirlaw LDN Chair and Honorary Consultant for her MBE for her services to dentistry.
Recognition for dental professionals who are committed to patient care as a priority must be recognised as others are in healthcare. Dental professionals are committed to delivering high-level care and keeping patients central to that care. Through the pandemic dental professionals where possible, gave their all, and yet all too often the profession seems sidelined.
This aside, a huge congratulations to both dental professionals on their well deserved honours.
