Dr Jason Wong

Jason strongly believes that dental nurses are an integral part of the dental team and is a great advocate of skill-mix, strongly supporting their part in the prevention strategy and the collaborative work with  Local Authorities.  He acknowledges that this is a very exciting time for the dental nurse and sees the long awaited opportunities and possibilities of the future.

Jason is a general dental practitioner amd practice owner, but is also involved in many local and national and network groups and speaks widely on a number of topics. He is the Local Dental Network (LDN)Chair for NHS England Central Midlands, as well as the Secretary for the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee and Vice Chair of the Oral Health Promotion Partnership Board in Leicester City.

The Society have asked Jason to talk to dental nurses about Oral health for the ageing population and the relevance of skill-mix and in particular the role that dental nurses can play. Two members of the East Midlands Branch of The Society of British Dental Nurses are part of the local LDN group and our Patron is contributing to the work stream relating to the aging population and considering the aging well population.

” I am delighted to be representing the Society at the Dentistry Show, it is a great opportunity to speak to dental nurses and share the work that we are doing”. Dental Nurses have a huge part to play in this work and of course in prevention as a whole and I hope that my session will encourage them to get more involved and encourage them to go along to local network meetings”.
