The Chief Dental Officer for England launched the Record Keeping Standards at the BDIA Dental Showcase. This brings consensus and standardisation in approach to assessment of Record Keeping Standards – what the professions would like to see is …. one patient, one record, one recognised standard. Notably this is not a new set of practitioner standards.
This was not the only area of discussion in the CDO’s speech, reference was made to the CMO’s report on obesity and reference to tooth decay – the mouth wouldn’t normally feature. There was a nod to the prevention Green paper of June 2019 ‘Advancing our health prevention in the 2020’s, the work achieved for dentists on mental health and well-being and of course the long term plan and the long and short term ambition.
