Tina trained as a Dental Surgery Assistant in the School of Dentistry in Belfast, qualifying with Merit in 1990. She was awarded the Kilner Mc Court prize by the NEBDN for the highest mark in Ireland during that year of examinations. She was the first dental nurse in Northern Ireland to successfully complete the Certificate in Sedation Dental Nursing. On completion of her Further Adult Education Teaching Certificate Tina moved to Birmingham Dental Hospital and successfully implemented the National Vocational Qualification Level 3 for Dental Nurses as well as the post-qualification in Special Care Dental Nursing. She helped re-establish the West Midlands BADN support group before returning to Ireland to take up a Director of Nursing position in Dublin Dental University Hospital.
As dental nursing representation of the Dental Council she doubled the dental nursing registrant numbers on the voluntary register by engaging with education providers across the country and visiting students in each of these institutions making them aware of their professional organisation and encouraging their engagement. Tina has recently returned to the UK to take up a Management position in the newly opened state of the art Birmingham Dental Hospital & School of Dentistry.
