Women’s Health Strategy

Government Published the Women’s Health Strategy in July 2022

The Society have asked what does this strategy mean for dental nurses given that there are 57113 dental nurses on the GDC register who identify as female as of August 2022. The Society support all dental nurses and on this occasion are exploring this recent health strategy.

The priority areas have been identified as:

  • Menstrual Health and gynaecological conditions
  • Fertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss and postnatal support
  • Menopause
  • Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • Cancers
  • Health impacts of violence against women and girls
  • Healthy ageing and long term conditions

What does it mean for the workforce across the different professional groups? We are interested to hear your point of view. Like others we are celebrating the work on menopause, but this is so much more, this should be across the life-course and be about actions not simply about designing policies.
